pub struct H2Driver<T> { /* private fields */ }Expand description
Owns the per-connection TCP transport and drives the HTTP/2 demux loop.
See the module docs for the high-level driver shape and how its impl is split across the
recv and send child modules.
Implementations§
Source§impl<T> H2Driver<T>
impl<T> H2Driver<T>
Sourcepub async fn close(self)
pub async fn close(self)
Close the connection: shut down our sending side of the transport, then read and discard whatever the peer still sends until it closes its side.
If the transport is dropped while the peer is still sending, the operating system answers the peer’s data with a TCP reset, which can destroy data the peer hasn’t read yet — our final GOAWAY, or the end of a response. Waiting for the peer to close avoids that. A peer that never closes keeps this waiting indefinitely, so bound it with a timeout.
Call this once Self::next returns None or an error. Closing a driver that hasn’t
finished ends the connection without a GOAWAY, resetting any streams still in flight.

Sourcepub fn connection(&self) -> &Arc<H2Connection> ⓘ
pub fn connection(&self) -> &Arc<H2Connection> ⓘ
The shared H2Connection this acceptor was created from.
Sourcepub fn next(&mut self) -> Next<'_, T>
pub fn next(&mut self) -> Next<'_, T>
Drive the connection until the next request stream opens, the connection ends, or a fatal protocol or I/O error occurs.
Returns Ok(Some(conn)) for each new request stream — the runtime adapter is
expected to spawn a handler task that consumes the Conn. Malformed requests are
handled internally with a stream-level RST_STREAM and never surfaced. Returns
Ok(None) when the connection has been shut down cleanly (peer GOAWAY, our own
swansong shutdown, peer EOF at a frame boundary).
§Errors
The returned future resolves to an H2Error for any connection-level protocol
violation detected while decoding peer frames or for an unrecoverable transport I/O
error. A final GOAWAY is sent before a protocol error is returned (best-effort; I/O
errors skip it).
